IDENTITY

Storyteller | Communications Coordinator, National Domestic Violence Hotline, 2010 – Present
I create and manage online content for the National Domestic Violence Hotline, loveisrespect and previously, the Texas Council on Family Violence. In this role, I organize the social media accounts for loveisrespect and the National Domestic Violence Hotline. I’ve more than doubled social media followers for both brands and have written, shot, edited and distributed over 90 videos. Our recent campaigns have been highlighted in USA Today, New York Magazine, Yahoo Finance and MTV Act.

Lit Twit | Literary Publicist/Online Branding Coordinator, Phenix & Phenix, 09 – May 2010
Developed brand platforms for authors. From online presence to sound bites for interviews, shaped their message from the start. Worked with print, radio, TV & online (esp. social media). Wrote constantly, from press kits to daily pitches, even penned a book trailer. Connected the right author with the right outlet (ex: landed a dyslexia expert/author his own blog with Psychology Today).

Chameleon Student Alumni Ambassadors
Coolest/most-challenging moments of college. Host a Blue Angel Marine for a weekend? Cool. Plan a Homecoming publicity campaign for a campus of 40,000? Challenging. Trickiest? Plan & execute the alumni Comeback program. From MC to PR rep to coordinator, it was the work of many masks.

The Girl Who Didn’t Dance | Floor Lovers Illinois
They spun, they posed, I planned. Personally contacted every cultural house on campus. Fundraised. Booked hotel rooms. Wrote press releases. Called TV stations, radio stations. Landed cover story of Buzz Magazine for the most underrated break-dancing competition in the Midwest.
